BURBANK, Wash.-Two members of Columbia High School’s Varsity Cheer team will be performing in the London New Year’s Day Parade from December 26, 2023 through January 2, 2024.
Gracie Gunter and Sadi Webb-Safford will represent Varsity Spirit, a leader in cheer and dance camps and competitions in London.
Cheerleaders who are invited to perform in the London New Year’s Day Parade are part of a select group of All-Americans identified at Varsity Spirit summer camps across the country, according to a press release from Columbia Burbank Cheer.
“I feel excited and grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the London New Year’s Day Parade,” said Gunter who, along with Webb-Safford, will be part of an exclusive performance on Piccadilly. “I’m mostly looking forward to connecting with other cheerleaders and dancers across the country, sightseeing, and performing in the parade.”
Over 10,000 participants from around the world are part of the London New Year’s Parade, according to Columbia Burbank Cheer’s press release, and the parade is seen by an estimated street audience of 500,000.
“I’m looking forward to performing,” said Webb Safford. “I love being able to represent my country and my small community of Burbank. I am greatly honored to be able to represent all aspects of my life at the London New Year’s Day Parade!”
The London New Year’s Parade starts at noon London time on Jan. 1, which is 4 a.m. Pacific Time.
