OLYMPIA, Wash.-Members of the public are invited to attend a series of four meetings in January and February to help shape Washington’s statewide recreation plan.
The four public planning meetings, hosted by the Department of Natural Resources, are an opportunity to provide input on how to achieve the goals outlined in the agency’s first ever statewide recreation plan.
Two in-person meetings and two zoom meetings are scheduled on the Outdoor Access and Responsible Recreation (OARR) Strategic Plan that establishes priorities for recreation management and outdoor access in the state.
According to the DNR, the OARR will guide decision-making for future management practices and ensure DNR-managed lands provide sustainable, diverse, and high-quality outdoor access and recreation opportunities that enrich the quality of life in Washington.
DNR worked with Tribes, state-trust beneficiaries, recreation partners and stakeholders, and the public to collect input on the development of the OARR Strategic Plan.
Those interested in attending a statewide recreational plan public meeting must RSVP, after registering the specifics for the meeting will be sent via email.
