Holiday decorating to slow traffic in downtown Yakima

YAKIMA, Wash.-Traffic in downtown Yakima will be reduced to one lane at times on Thursday, Nov. 30, as City crews install holiday decorations from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

About 80 decorations will be installed along the south side of Yakima Avenue eastward, as well as on the north side of Yakima Avenue near the Yakima Convention Center and west to 1st Street. Decorations will also be hung along 1st Street between Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and Walnut Street.

Traffic will only be impacted in the immediate area where crews are working to allow crews access to light and utility poles, according to the City of Yakima.
