Suspect in custody after critical incident involving SWAT in Pasco

PASCO, Wash.- UPDATE: 10:42 p.m. According to PPD, the suspect is now in custody.

According to PPD, the suspect was making threats to kill someone. The suspect has now been booked into the Franklin County Jail.

According to PPD, Road 32 and Opal Street will be closed for several hours while the scene is processed.

UPDATE: 9:22 p.m. According to PPD, the incident is still active.

According to PPD, those on scene are working to resolve the situation peacefully and to minimize risk of injury to all involved.

According to PPD, the incident is expected to continue into the night.

You are still asked to stay out of the area and shelter in place if you are in the immediate area.

According to Pasco Police Department residents are in a shelter-in-place order for a critical incident.

According to PPD, Teams are currently dealing with a felony crime in the area of Opal Street and Road 32 in Pasco.

Tri-Cities regional SWAT has been deployed to assist with the situation.

According to PPD, there is no immediate danger to the public however, residents in the area are asked to shelter in place out of an abundance of caution.
