Celebrate National Pumpkin Day at you local pumpkin patch ahead of Halloween

RICHLAND, Wash. — What better way to get into the Fall spirit than going to the pumpkin patch! Much like other pumpkin patches, Queensgate Gardens includes activities like a corn maze, slides and food.

For over 8 years, Brian Keele and his son have been growing their own plants and selling them. It wasn’t until he bought the current location when they began selling pumpkins.

Year after year, Keele tells me he and his son get together with other staff to think about what the next addition to the patch will be.

Keels says they started with the patch. Now, they have slides, straw bale towers with slides, a bounce house, fishing pond for juniors, mini corn maze, archery practice and a straw bale maze. Aside from the activities, Queensgate Gardens offers a mini market with a small selection of fresh produce to pick from.

Looking for a snack that isn’t produce? Hot Tamales has a food truck right next to the gardens to buy food.

The fruit stand is open and fully stocked with apples, onions, corn, plums, peaches, squash, grapes, tomatoes and so much more.

The pumpkin patch is free to the public but you’re encouraged to donate to help cover the costs of any new activities next year.

Keele tells me each year, they have tons of pumpkins delivered for the patch and the heaviest they’ve ever received is about 95lbs.

The fall hours for the gardens are Monday-Saturday: 9:00 am -6:00 pm and Sundays 10:00 am – 3:00 pm.

The hours for fishing and archery activities are Monday-Friday 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm and all day on Saturdays and Sundays.

You find Queensgate Gardens on Queensgate Drive.
