BENTON CITY, Wash.–A 60-year-old women was allegedly strangled by her 27-year-old son with an extension cord last night.
The suspect would not let her leave for the night, but she was able to get out of the house, which was when a neighbor called the Benton County Sheriff’s Office on behalf of her after she left the residence, according to a BCSO Facebook post.
Deputies could not locate the suspect upon arrival, but returned to the residence later in the evening and barricaded himself inside, according to the post. A search warrant was executed and deputies eventually located him hiding in a makeshift tunnel underneath the house.
The suspect was booked into Benton County Jail on multiple charges, including Malicious Mischief for breaking the victim’s phone, according to the post.
