UNION GAP, Wash. – Five 4-H members across Yakima County were awarded the American Youth Foundation’s (AYF) National Leadership Award on Saturday, Nov. 4 for their integrity and potential for leadership.
The awards were given out at the 76th Annual 4-H Leader’s Recognition Luncheon hosted by the Terrace Heights Grange.
The award’s recipients are given an opportunity to attend AYF’s Leadership Conference in Michigan.
The five recipients were:
Brandon Gossett, Selah, Sagebrush Riders 4-H ClubDelilah Haller, Selah, Sagebrush Riders 4-H ClubKayla Krueger, Naches, Naches Valley 4-H ClubLillian Miles, Selah, Naches Valley/Sagebrush Riders 4-H ClubMadison Morgan, Yakima, Sagebrush Riders 4-H Club
Gossett, a nine-year 4-H member, is currently the Sagebrush Riders 4-H Club’s (SBR) Sergeant at Arms. He mentors new and young members and regularly participates in community service projects.
Haller has been a SBR member for ten years, being President for two years. She participates in several community service projects and was voted SBR’s “Most Inspirational Member.”
Krueger is a member of the Naches Valley 4-H Club and has been active for seven years. She has been president of the club and steps up to help with several projects.
Miles is a 12-year member of the Naches Valley 4-H Club and is a member of the SBR. She is the current president of the Naches Valley 4-H Club and takes active roles in several 4-H community service projects while promoting a sense of family and community.
Lastly, Morgan has been part of the SBR for five years and is currently the club’s secretary. She was twice voted for SBR’s “Community Service” award and competes on the West Valley High School Equestrian Team.
