PORTLAND, Ore. – Four men, including three men from Yakima, were charged on Thu., Feb. 1 for transporting nearly 370 gallons of liquid heroin, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon.
44-year-old Marco Antonio Magallon, 26-year-old Luis Deleon Woodward and 25-year-old Jorge Luis Amador, all of Yakima, were charged along with 32-year-old Santos Alisael Aguilar Maya for conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute heroin.
Court documents say law enforcement received information on Jan. 24 through a drug trafficking investigation that members of a transnational, Mexico-based criminal organization were transporting illegal narcotics across Oregon.
Investigators found a rented moving truck late that night on I-84 near Bonneville, OR with Amador in the driver’s seat and a red pickup truck moving along with it. They watched as the group stopped in Tigard, OR at a motel.
In the early morning of Jan. 25, investigators executed a federal search warrant of the motel and the two vehicles, finding eight 55-gallon barrels containing 370 gallons of liquid heroin along with two loaded handguns, according to the press release.
All four men were arrested without incident.
