22nd Annual Yakima River Canyon Marathon is April 6

YAKIMA, Wash.-The 22nd Annual Yakima River Canyon Half and Full Marathon is Saturday, April 6.

The race starts on Canyon Road south of the Berry Road intersection in Ellensburg and travels south through the Yakima River Canyon all the way to Selah.

Runners can register for the race until 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3. The entrance fee is $95.

The marathon will start at 8 a.m. and the half-marathon will take off at 9:30 a.m.

Drivers in the area should be advised that traffic will be impacted by the Yakima River Canyon Marathon on April 6.

According to the Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office, traffic restrictions and closures will be in place on Berry Road, Tjossem Road, Woodhouse Loop, and Canyon Road early in the day before runners make their way into the Canyon.

Both lanes of SR821 through the canyon will be closed to traffic during the race, with the closures expected to last until at least 3:30 p.m.
