2 injured in wrong-way crash on I-82

BENTON COUNTY, Wash. – An 82-year-old driving the wrong way on I-82 allegedly caused a crash that injured a mother and her baby on Thursday, according to Washington State Patrol Trooper Sarah Clasen.

Benton County Fire District 1 responded to the crash at 9:50 p.m. at milepost 113 near Locust Grove Road. The 82-year-old driver reportedly drove westbound in the eastbound lanes and hit two cars.

The mother and baby involved in the crash were brought to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, per Clasen.

Charges are pending against the driver. Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be involved in the crash.
