PASCO, Wash. – The Pasco Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire on the night of Friday, Nov. 8 that left one dog dead.
According to a press release from Deputy Chief Tim Harkins with Pasco FD, crews were dispatched to a home fire in the 4400 block of West Nixon Street at 10:08 p.m.
On scene, crews found one resident outside with a foot injury and smoke inhalation who was later transported to the hospital.
As crews were working on the fire inside the structure, electrical arcing was found forcing them to exit the property for safety reasons.
Franklin PUD was able to stop the electrical discharge and allow fire crews to finish extinguishing the fire.
Two dogs escaped the fire but a third was found dead inside the home.
The home was damaged and is no longer habitable. The American Red Cross will assist the displaced residents.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
