YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. – A camp trailer caught fire in Yakima County on Tuesday, resulting in the death of one person according to Yakima County Fire District 5.
YCFD5 says at around 8 a.m., units were sent to the 8700 block of Larue Road about nine miles west of Toppenish.
Upon arrival, crews found out through Yakama Tribal Police that two residents had escaped but one resident was unaccounted for.
Crews quickly knocked down the fire and found the last resident inside and dead.
YCFD5 says the cause of the fire is unknown, however a resident told officials that they had been using candles to heat the trailer.
Crews extinguished the fire by 8:20 a.m. Tribal Police are investigating.
