YAKIMA, Wash. – The Yakima Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened on the morning of Sept. 28.
According to a YPD news release, police responded to reports of gunshots in the area of Prospect Way and N. 66th Ave at approximately 10:15 a.m.
When officers arrived on scene, they found a 43-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman with gunshot wounds.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was transported to a Seattle hospital.
According to YPD, the shooting may be the result of a domestic violence incident that occurred prior.
YPD Major Crimes Unit and Special Assault Unit are investigating.
